Kebbi Assembly Receives 11 Executive Bills for Scrutiny, Passage

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has received 11 executive bills from Governor Nasir Idris for consideration, scrutiny and possible passage into law.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Salihu Maikasuwa Dangoje, announced the receipt of the bills during Wednesday’s plenary session.
The proposed legislation covers key areas including land administration, public procurement, tertiary education, criminal law, solid minerals development, taxation, scholarships and the administration of justice.
Among the bills are the Kebbi State Geographic Information Services Agency (KEBGIS) Amendment Bill 2024 and the Price Intelligence and Public Procurement Bureau (Amendment) Bill 2025.
The Assembly also received bills seeking amendments to the laws governing Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero, and Kauran Gwandu College of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences, Ambursa.
Other bills presented to the lawmakers include the Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi Amendment Bill 2025; Kebbi State Penal Code (Amendment) Bill 2025; Kebbi State Solid Minerals Development Agency Bill 2025; and the Kebbi State Harmonized Taxes and Levies (Approval List for Collections) Bill 2025.
The remaining bills are the Kebbi State Scholarship Board (Amendment) Bill 2025; Kebbi State College of Health Sciences and Technology (Establishment) Bill 2025; and the Kebbi State Administration and Criminal Justice (Amendment) Bill 2025.
The lawmakers are expected to commence deliberations on the proposed legislation during the Assembly’s next plenary session.
The bills, if passed and assented to, are expected to introduce amendments and establish new legal frameworks across several sectors of the state.
