2027: Tinubu’ll Relocate Nigeria’s Capital to Lagos If He Wins, Primate Ayodele Predicts
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu may relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if he wins a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Ayodele made the prediction in a video shared on X while speaking about what he believes could happen under a Tinubu administration after the 2027 election.
According to the cleric, significant changes could take place in Lagos, including the possible relocation of the nation’s capital.
“Lagos architecture will change. You may not see this one very seriously, but if Tinubu wins the second time, the capital of Nigeria will be relocated to Lagos,” Ayodele said.
He added that the new capital could be located in any part of Lagos State, mentioning Epe and Lekki as possible locations.
“When this happens, the capital can be in Epe or Lekki or anywhere at all in Lagos,” he stated.
President Bola Tinubu, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is expected to contest the 2027 presidential election.
However, Ayodele’s statement remains a prediction and does not represent any officially announced government policy or confirmed plan by President Tinubu or the Federal Government.
Nigeria’s capital was officially moved from Lagos to Abuja in 1991 during the administration of former military president Ibrahim Babangida.
