VDM Urges Security Agencies to Tackle ‘Unknown Gunmen’ Proactively

ABUJA — Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called on Nigerian security agencies to adopt a more proactive approach in tackling kidnapping and other forms of violent crime across the country.
VDM made the call amid growing concerns over insecurity, particularly incidents involving unidentified gunmen, kidnappers and other criminal groups operating in different parts of Nigeria.
He urged security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve coordination and take preventive measures capable of identifying and disrupting criminal activities before they escalate.
According to the activist, relying solely on responses after attacks have occurred is not enough to effectively address the country’s security challenges.
He stressed the need for security agencies to work closely with local communities and make better use of available intelligence to track criminal networks and prevent attacks.
VDM’s appeal comes as Nigerians continue to demand stronger measures to protect lives and property, particularly in areas affected by kidnapping, armed attacks and other violent crimes.
The call also highlights the importance of sustained security operations, effective intelligence sharing and swift action against individuals and groups responsible for attacks across the country.
