The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has once again adjusted petrol prices downward at its filling stations in Lagos and Abuja.
A market check on Thursday revealed that pump prices have fallen to ₦900 per litre in Lagos and ₦940 per litre in Abuja. This represents a ₦10 reduction in Lagos (from ₦910) and a ₦5 decrease in Abuja (from ₦945).
The latest reduction follows the Dangote Refinery’s cut in its ex-depot price to ₦828 per litre three weeks ago — a move that has continued to shape nationwide pump prices.
The development also comes after the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) confirmed that the planned 15% ad-valorem duty on imported petrol and diesel has been scrapped.
The duty was previously approved by President Bola Tinubu on October 21 but was later withdrawn following industry-wide concerns.
