The Nigeria Police Force has extended the enforcement deadline for the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows from August 12 to October 2, 2025.
Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced the extension in a statement on Monday, explaining that the decision was driven by a surge in permit applications from vehicle owners, reflecting increased public compliance.
“This decision follows a significant rise in applications submitted through the official platform, indicating heightened public awareness and compliance,” Adejobi stated.
He added that the two-month extension would enable the police to thoroughly review each application, ensuring permits are granted only to qualified individuals in accordance with national security guidelines.
The Tinted Glass Permit is a regulatory measure aimed at controlling the use of vehicles with tinted windows, balancing privacy concerns with national security requirements.
