FCTA Initiates Profiling of Kidnapping-Prone Areas

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commenced the profiling of areas most affected by kidnappings, aiming to understand the root causes and implement effective solutions.

Mukhtar Galadima, Director of the Department of Development Control of the FCTA, led the team in this initiative. The exercise, which began at Sagwari Layout Estate, Dutse, in Bwari Area Council—recently plagued by abductions—focuses on identifying buildings without approval and addressing other illegal activities in collaboration with security personnel.

Galadima, represented by Hassan Ogbole, the deputy director of monitoring and enforcement, highlighted the prevalence of structures lacking development control approval in the area, creating an environment conducive to criminal operations.

Blaming the inadequate planning on the local chief and associates, Galadima emphasized that the profiling process would enable the department to recommend necessary measures to curb criminal activities effectively. This proactive approach by the FCTA aims to enhance security and protect residents in areas vulnerable to kidnappings

Tinubu government cannot stop crime in Abuja –Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, expressed that preventing crime in Nigeria’s capital city, or any location, is impractical.

Wike made this statement in response to public concerns about the recent surge in kidnappings and killings in Abuja and its surroundings.

He suggested that many alarms regarding insecurity in the capital were raised by politicians to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Wike in a viral video said, “The so-called alarm is political. Some politicians are bent on making sure the government does not survive, and they do it by creating unnecessary tension by carrying propaganda. Something just happened there; they tell you it has happened 25 times
