Union Bank Wins Gender Inclusion Award as Brand Chief Makes WIMCA 2026 Top 50 List
LAGOS, Nigeria — Union Bank of Nigeria has been recognised for its leadership in gender inclusion, winning the Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion award at the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA) 2026.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The recognition highlights Union Bank’s efforts to promote gender diversity through an inclusive workplace and financial ecosystem that supports women, female entrepreneurs and professionals through tailored financial products, capacity building, mentorship, networking and broader economic opportunities.
The 2026 edition of WIMCA was themed “Grow, Give, Glow: Building Resilience for Distinction.” The conference brought together leading female marketing and communications professionals from across Africa to discuss leadership, resilience, industry trends and women’s advancement within the brand and marketing ecosystem.
Adding to Union Bank’s recognition, the bank’s Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Mrs. Olufunmilola Aluko, was named among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications.
Reacting to the honours, Aluko said the recognition validates Union Bank’s continued commitment to gender inclusion and women’s advancement.
She said the bank would continue championing initiatives that empower women to build meaningful careers, lead confidently and contribute to the growth of the marketing and communications industry.
WIMCA was established by Nigerian brand and marketing magazine Brand Communicator as a platform for celebrating female leadership and promoting greater participation of women in the brand, marketing and communications industry.
Union Bank said it would continue supporting platforms and initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, inclusive growth and meaningful participation across the marketing and communications landscape.
