President Joe Biden signs executive order that protects access to abortion nationwide
July 9,2022
After Roe v. Wade was overturned, abortion rights in the United States of America were in grave danger due to the conservative agenda. President Joe Biden had to step up and do something about it with his presidential power. On Friday morning, he signed an executive order that will help protect women’s access to abortion and reproductive healthcare across the country
This is a direct response to all the red states that are already implementing tough laws that can even turn women who seek abortions into criminals. During his speech before signing the executive order, Biden urged women and men to vote in order to codify the Roe v. Wade overturned case. He also used an example of a raped 10-year-old girl who got pregnant and forced to travel from Indiana to Ohio just to get an abortion
President Biden’s remarks about his executive order.
This is what president Biden said: “This was not a decision driven by the constitution. This was not a decision driven by history. oday’s supreme court majority is playing fast and loose with the facts. Your votes can make that a reality. You, the women of America, can determine the outcome of this issue.
“Courts do not have a clue about the power of American women. For God’s sakes, there’s an election in November. Vote, vote, vote! A 10-year-old girl should be forced to given birth to rapist’s child? Does anyone believe it’s Ohio’s majority view that that should not be able to be dealt with?”
Biden will veto any other initiative to ban abortion nationwide
President Biden also sent a stern warning to all Republicans who are showcasing an extreme behavior with this matter. The Roe v. Wade case overturn was just the beginning of what these extreme conservatives want. There are many more laws they want to promote that directly affect human rights.
Biden is aware there are many Republicans who will push the nationwide abortion ban. While he is president, Joe Biden made a promise to all Americans: “As long as I’m president it won’t happen, because I’ll veto it,” said Biden during the Q&A
