Petrol Prices: NNPCL, MRS Filling Stations Set to Reduce Prices Following Dangote Refinery’s Latest Cut
Petrol prices across Nigeria are expected to decline in the coming days following a fresh price reduction by Dangote Refinery.
The refinery has reportedly reduced its gantry petrol price to ₦1,215 per litre, a development expected to influence pricing across the downstream petroleum sector.
Managers at NNPCL and MRS filling stations have indicated that pump prices could drop as they begin receiving petrol at the new rates.
The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, also confirmed that marketers would adjust their prices following the refinery’s reduction.
Meanwhile, international crude oil prices have recorded declines, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) falling by 3 per cent to $99 per barrel and Brent crude dropping by 4 per cent to $104 per barrel.
Petrol prices in Abuja currently range between ₦1,370 and ₦1,429 per litre, with motorists anticipating possible relief as the new pricing takes effect.
The expected reduction could provide some relief to Nigerians amid rising transportation and living costs.
