Oshiomhole Predicts 2027 Victory for Tinubu, Says Atiku and Obi ‘Destined for Another Defeat’

Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will once again defeat opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.

Oshiomhole made the statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he dismissed the possibility of victory for the opposition candidates, even if they decide to form a joint ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He argued that both Atiku, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Obi, who flew the flag of the Labour Party (LP), have a record of electoral failures, whether contesting individually or together.

“Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contest against the APC?” Oshiomhole asked rhetorically. “You can throw around any figures you like, but when these two ran together, they were soundly defeated by the APC. So, what would change now?”

The former APC national chairman insisted that history would repeat itself if both opposition figures unite again in 2027.

“They have a history of being defeated together, and a history of being defeated apart. They ran together and lost; they ran separately and still lost. If they reunite, that’s fine—but the result will remain the same. They will still lose,” Oshiomhole declared confidently.

The senator maintained that Tinubu’s leadership achievements and ongoing reforms would make it even harder for any coalition of opposition politicians to unseat him in the next election.
