Nigeria Tops Global Malnutrition List Among 77 Countries – MSF
Médecins Sans Frontières has revealed that Nigeria recorded the highest number of malnutrition cases in 2025 among 77 countries where the organisation operates.
According to MSF’s Nigeria representative, Dr. Ahmed Aldikhari, insecurity, rising food prices, flooding, poor healthcare facilities, and climate challenges have worsened the crisis, especially in northern Nigeria. The organisation said over 440,000 children were treated for severe malnutrition in 2025.
MSF also warned that maternal deaths, disease outbreaks, and limited healthcare access remain major concerns across the country.
