Manchester United Urged to Hold Firm as Chelsea Push for £35m Alejandro Garnacho Transfer

Chelsea are reportedly pushing hard to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in a deal worth around £35 million, but the Red Devils are being urged to hold firm on their £50 million valuation of the Argentine winger.
According to talkSPORT, Chelsea believe £35m is a fair price given United’s willingness to offload Garnacho this summer. However, the Old Trafford hierarchy had initially slapped a £70m price tag on the 21-year-old before lowering it to £50m in recent weeks.
Garnacho, who joined United from Atlético Madrid’s youth setup, is said to have already agreed personal terms with Chelsea. Despite interest from clubs across Europe, the Argentina international reportedly prefers to remain in the Premier League.
Napoli had two bids rejected for Garnacho in January, but Chelsea have now emerged as the clear favourites for his signature. The London club is understood to be aiming to finalise the deal before the end of the week once a fee is agreed.
Last season, Garnacho scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances for Manchester United. However, his relationship with manager Ruben Amorim soured following the Europa League final, where he started on the bench against Tottenham Hotspur and later criticised the coach publicly — with his agent and brother also taking swipes at Amorim.
Garnacho’s overall record at United stands at 26 goals and 22 assists in 144 matches, impressive numbers for a player still in the early stages of his career.
With the transfer window ticking down, United are under financial pressure to raise funds after significant summer spending. Still, many analysts argue that £50m is a fair market value for Garnacho and that the club should resist Chelsea’s attempts to negotiate a cut-price deal.
