JAMB announces cut-off mark for 2022 University Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and heads of tertiary institutions in the country, have fixed 140 as the minimum cut-off mark for admissions in the 2022/2023 academic session.

At the 2022 Policy meeting on Admissions presided over by the Minister of Education in Abuja, the minimum cut-off marks for universities is pegged at140 while Polytechnics and colleges of education have 100 as minimum

THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Thursday pegged the deadline for the 2022 admissions for December 31, 2022, The PUNCH reports.

This is as the board also stated that it would no longer accept A’Level results by the National Business and Technical Education Board for Direct Entry admissions.

These were disclosed during the 2022 policy meeting organised by the board in Abuja.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, said, “The Minister of Education has approved that the NABTEB A’Level GCE will no longer be recognised as a qualification for Direct Entry from 2022. However, all those who have already obtained it prior to this date will be able to use it.

While giving further statistics of the 2022 examination, Oloyede noted that 378,639 scored above 200; a total of 520,596 candidates scored 190 and above; 704,991 scored 180 and above; 934,103 scored 170 and above; 1,192,057 scored 160 and above.

According to him, Adebayo Eyimofe, an Ekiti State indigene who sat for his examination in Abuja, scored 362 marks, the highest mark in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Eyimofeo was followed by Ugwu Chikelu, an indigene of Enugu state, who scored 359.

Other high scorers include Igbalaye Ebunoluwa -357; Emmanuel Oluwanifemi -357; Ozumba Samuel -357; Olumide-Attah Ayomide -355; Lawal Olaoluwa -355; Dokun Jubril -354; Amaku Anthony -354 and Aghulor Divine -353.
