The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that its air defence systems successfully shot down incoming ballistic and cruise missiles reportedly launched from Iran, amid escalating regional tensions.
Authorities also reported a fire outbreak at an oil installation in Fujairah following a suspected drone strike, raising fresh concerns over energy security in the Gulf.
An Iranian military official, speaking anonymously to state media, denied any deliberate attack on the facility, instead accusing the United States military of provoking instability through what was described as “military adventurism.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump issued a strong warning, stating that Iran would face severe consequences if US naval assets are targeted in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The US military also disclosed that it destroyed several Iranian vessels allegedly attempting to disrupt commercial shipping, as American forces continue efforts to safeguard maritime routes in the tense corridor.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, maintained that the situation cannot be resolved through force, stressing that diplomatic discussions are ongoing, with Pakistan playing a mediating role.
