Popular Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, Obinna Iyiegbu—better known as Obi Cubana—has stated that his foremost focus at the moment is leading people to Christ, amid public criticism over his recent political alignment.
The billionaire businessman made the declaration in a Facebook post on Sunday, as reactions continued to trail his appointment by an All Progressives Congress (APC) support group.
Obi Cubana was recently named South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a pro-APC group campaigning for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. The announcement sparked backlash on social media, with critics accusing him of aligning with an administration they blame for Nigeria’s current economic challenges.
Addressing the controversy indirectly, Obi Cubana wrote that “the most important assignment now is winning souls for Christ,” adding that his week had been filled with blessings and spiritual fruitfulness following time spent in God’s presence.
The post comes shortly after Obi Cubana publicly embraced Christianity, following his conversion under the ministry of Streams of Joy International founder, Pastor Jerry Eze.
