You filed for divorce, yet your family have refused to return bride price- Yul relentlessly slams May Edochie

Nollywood actor and politician Yul Edochie remains entangled in ongoing controversy with his first wife, the rapidly ascending influencer May Edochie.

The renowned movie star had, at an earlier juncture, expressed disapproval towards May for undergoing aesthetic enhancements without seeking his consent.

In a latest outburst, the actor confirmed his estranged wife has filed for divorce from him.

He questioned why she had chosen to retain his surname and declined to refund the bride price he had paid to her family to marry her

Yul stated that May’s family has declined his request, expressed frustration.

“You filed for divorce but have refused to drop my name or return the bride price I paid,” he wrote in part.

The controversy in Yul’s home started in April 2022 when he announced he had married actress Judy Austin Moghalu as his second wife. He also unveiled their first son together.

In her New Year post, May said 2023 came with “too many adversities and misfortunes.” She added that it “dealt with me in the most catastrophic ways”.

She also said the worst of the experience was that 2023 “stole my own flesh and blood” — implying the death of Kambilichukwu, her first child with Yul, in March.

May revealed that the loss had left her in the most devastating, miserable, and confused state.

In response to her post, Yul accused May of having breast enlargement surgery in the same year without his consent.

The actor also cautioned his first wife against manipulating public opinion on social media to foster resentment towards him
