Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described Rivers State as a rare example of political harmony, saying the state successfully brought together supporters of both the APC and PDP in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the remarks on Sunday during a thank-you visit to Ahoada West Local Government Area, where he commended residents for rising above party loyalties in pursuit of a shared political vision.

According to the minister, political engagement in Rivers has gone beyond traditional party lines, transforming into what he called the “Renewed Hope Family.” He noted that this broad alliance reflects an inclusive mindset that prioritises unity over division.

Wike likened the cooperation in Rivers to a “rainbow alliance,” saying it distinguishes the state from others and highlights its ability to build consensus across political boundaries. He encouraged other states to emulate this approach as the country looks ahead to the 2027 polls.

He further stated that Rivers State’s political influence is rooted in the collective resolve of its people, not party labels, describing the state as a symbol of natural unity driven by common aspirations.

Reaffirming his support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition, Wike expressed confidence that Rivers will continue to stand firmly behind the president, recalling the state’s strong backing even at a time when many were sceptical of Tinubu’s prospects.
