Weeks After Failed Flight, Green Africa Airways Has Not Refunded Customer’s Ticket Fee

An entrepreneur resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has accused Green Africa Airways of ignoring her request for a refund.
The entrepreneur, who spoke on the grounds of anonymity, told FIJ that Green Africa Airways scheduled her Port Harcourt-Lagos flight for May 27, but had no flight on the said date.
She stated that on getting to the airport on May 27, she met no one to attend to her as Green Africa had no check-in counter.
“I went to their customer service desk to find out what was happening. A Green Africa Airways staffer I met there said there was no flight because they had operational problems,” she told FIJ.
She said she asked the staffer why they did not send her an email in advance, notifying her of the problem
“He said they sent emails to as many people as they could and if I didn’t get them, he did not know what happened,” she stated.
She said she checked her email immediately to find out if they sent her a message, but she found none.
“Even worse, they did not send me any mail to confirm that I booked a flight with them. No single message from them,” she said
The entrepreneur said the staffer told her she could only request a refund at the Lagos office.
“When I landed in Lagos, their representative asked me to drop my account number as she could not do a refund immediately. That was the last time I heard from them,” she said.
“Since then, they have been with my N37,500. This is despite the mail I sent to them.”
