Napoli are reportedly backing a potential summer transfer that would see Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen join Liverpool, despite growing links with Manchester United and Juventus.

According to a report by Sportmediaset (via Calcio Napoli 24), the Serie A champions are open to sanctioning Osimhen’s exit this summer and would favour a move to Anfield—potentially as part of a swap deal involving Darwin Nunez, who is expected to leave Liverpool following a turbulent stint at the club.

Napoli Eyeing Darwin Nunez Swap Deal with Liverpool

The Italian club has reportedly initiated contact with Nunez’s representatives, exploring a deal that could see Osimhen move to Liverpool while the Uruguayan striker heads in the opposite direction. The proposed exchange could help both clubs balance finances, with Napoli open to a deal that includes both cash and a player component.

Nunez, Liverpool’s former record signing, has struggled for consistency in the Premier League, and a fresh start in Serie A may appeal to both parties.

Osimhen Prefers Juventus Project Despite Premier League Interest

However, while Napoli would prefer to do business with a foreign club like Liverpool, Osimhen is said to be leaning toward a move to Juventus, attracted by the long-term sporting project in Turin. The 25-year-old striker, who has a €75m (£64.2m) release clause for foreign clubs, would require Juventus to negotiate a direct fee with Napoli due to the clause not applying to Italian teams.

Juventus are pushing hard for the Nigerian international, seeing him as a key part of their rebuild under new leadership.

Manchester United Revive Osimhen Interest

Meanwhile, Manchester United have also re-entered the race following Osimhen’s rejection of a massive £30 million-a-year contract from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal. United are reportedly ready to meet the striker’s release clause and are offering an annual salary of £10.3 million to make him the new focal point of their attack under incoming manager Ruben Amorim.

However, with no Champions League football on offer and ongoing financial constraints, United may struggle to beat out Liverpool or Juventus if either club makes a firm move.

Galatasaray and Al-Hilal Still in the Mix

Osimhen—who tallied an impressive 45 goal contributions during a loan spell at Galatasaray (37 goals, 8 assists)—has also attracted renewed attention from both Al-Hilal and the Turkish champions. While Galatasaray’s hopes of a permanent deal appear unlikely, Al-Hilal are reportedly preparing one final lucrative offer in an attempt to sway the striker’s decision.

Osimhen’s Napoli Legacy

Since arriving in Naples from Lille in 2020, Victor Osimhen has scored 76 goals and provided 18 assists in 133 appearances, playing a pivotal role in Napoli’s 2022–23 Serie A title win. With just one year left on his contract, the club is determined to cash in this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in 2026.
