July 21, 2025Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has confirmed he will remain at Bayer Leverkusen for the upcoming season, ending speculation linking him with a summer transfer away from the Bundesliga club.

Boniface, who has been heavily linked with European and Middle Eastern giants including AC Milan, Al-Nassr, and Galatasaray, made his intentions clear in a recent interview with German publication Bild.

“Absolutely, my future is here,” Boniface said. “From my side, it is 100 percent clear that I am staying. I have three years left on my contract. I want to win titles with Bayer and have a great season.”

The 23-year-old Nigerian international, who joined Leverkusen from Belgian side Union SG in 2023, quickly became one of the key players for the German outfit with his dynamic performances in both the Bundesliga and European competitions.

Despite strong interest from top clubs abroad and a reportedly lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, Boniface insists that his focus remains on helping Bayer Leverkusen return to domestic and continental glory.

His commitment will come as a major boost to Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, who is building a competitive squad for the 2025/26 season with the aim of challenging for the Bundesliga title and making a strong run in Europe.

Boniface’s decision to stay underscores his desire for sporting achievement over financial incentives, as he aims to cement his legacy in Germany and continue developing as one of Africa’s rising football stars.
