VDM Declares ‘Let Me Die’ in Outburst as Bobrisky, EFCC Chairman Snub Reps’ Summon Over N15M Bribery Scandal

Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on Monday expressed his frustration at the National Assembly after the absence of controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at a scheduled hearing.
The House of Representatives had earlier summoned VDM, Bobrisky, and the EFCC chairman to a hearing regarding allegations of a N15 million bribe. According to VDM, Bobrisky had allegedly paid off EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him earlier this year.
In a video post on his social media channels, VDM released an audio recording, allegedly featuring Bobrisky’s voice, in which the cross-dresser reportedly boasted about bribing EFCC officials with N15 million to dismiss the charges against him in April 2024. The explosive post triggered widespread public outrage, leading to the lawmakers’ intervention.
Despite the gravity of the allegations, only VDM appeared before the legislative panel. Bobrisky and the EFCC Chairman were notably absent, prompting VDM to express his anger.
Addressing the committee members, VDM, clearly agitated, declared, “If I say anything, let me die.” He insisted he would not make further statements unless all the summoned individuals were present.
This incident has further intensified public scrutiny of the EFCC and renewed debates over accountability in Nigeria’s justice system. The absence of Bobrisky and the EFCC boss has raised more questions, with many wondering if the truth behind the bribery allegations will ever come to light.
The House of Representatives is expected to reschedule the hearing, with demands growing for a thorough investigation into the alleged corruption scandal.
