A United States congressman, Rep. Riley Moore of West Virginia’s Second District, has applauded the Trump administration’s move to impose visa bans on Nigerians who fund, support, or enable terrorism.
This follows an announcement by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday, confirming that the government will enforce visa restrictions on individuals involved in directing, financing, or participating in violations of religious freedom.
Responding on his official X handle, Rep. Moore commended the policy, noting that it directly targets those responsible for attacks and widespread violence against Christians in Nigeria. He added that the new measure marks the beginning of real accountability for extremist groups and their supporters.
“This is an important first step,” Moore wrote. “Accountability is coming to those who carry out or ignore the persecution of our Christian brothers and sisters.
