A United States lawmaker has issued a strong warning to ISIS terrorists, reaffirming America’s commitment to protecting Christians in Nigeria following renewed threats by the extremist group.

Representative Riley M. Moore, who represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, said the United States would not retreat in its support for Nigerian Christians who have been threatened by ISIS fighters demanding conversion to Islam or death.

Moore made the remarks during an interview with Newsmax, stressing that the US government, under President Donald Trump, remains committed to backing Nigeria with the military support required to combat terrorism.

“ISIS recently released a message ordering Christians in Nigeria to either convert or be killed,” Moore said. “We will never abandon our brothers and sisters in Christ, and it is encouraging to see the Nigerian government working closely with President Trump to defeat these radical Islamic terrorists.”

He added that cooperation between both countries remains crucial in dismantling terror networks operating in Nigeria.

The comments follow reports that US forces carried out airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State on Christmas night, deploying multiple Tomahawk missiles against militant targets.

The development has renewed discussions around international cooperation in tackling insurgency and protecting vulnerable religious communities in Nigeria.
