UBA Celebrates 10-Year Digital Banking Milestone with VERiCASH, Launches Customer Reward Promo

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has marked 10 years of digital transformation in partnership with fintech innovator VERiCASH, unveiling a special customer reward promotion to celebrate the milestone.

This decade-long collaboration gave birth to the UBA Mobile App, which has revolutionized digital banking across Africa by offering secure, seamless, and user-friendly services to millions of users. The app has become one of the most downloaded and used digital platforms in the banking sector across over 20 countries.

To commemorate this significant achievement, UBA has launched a special reward campaign exclusively for users of its mobile app. The promo aims to thank loyal customers and reinforce UBA’s commitment to innovation and digital excellence.

Speaking on the partnership’s impact, Shamsideen Fashola, Group Head, Retail and Digital Banking at UBA, stated that the VERiCASH alliance has played a crucial role in cementing UBA’s leadership in Africa’s digital banking ecosystem.

“This partnership with VERiCASH has helped position UBA as Africa’s leading digital bank, with impressive growth in both downloads and transaction volumes,” Fashola said.

Ashraf Zaki, Chairman of CIT VERiCASH, also expressed satisfaction with the decade-long collaboration. He described the partnership as a model of success where advanced technology and visionary leadership have come together to reshape banking in Africa.

“Our collaboration with UBA has not only transformed our organizations but has also contributed to the evolution of digital banking across the continent,” Zaki said.

Alero Ladipo, Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications at UBA, thanked customers for their continued support and officially introduced the UBA/VERiCASH 10th Anniversary Promo, designed to celebrate and reward the app’s users.

The new promo is set to further deepen customer engagement and highlight UBA’s ongoing investment in digital innovation across Africa.
