Security operatives in Kogi State have arrested two men accused of supplying food and other essentials to bandits terrorizing the Itedo-Ijowa community in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Abayo David and David Bori, both residents of Itedo-Ijowa, were apprehended around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday by local vigilante officers during a routine patrol.

Confirming the arrest in a Facebook post, the spokesperson to the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Adeyemi Babarinde Sunday, described the development as a major breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the region.

“This arrest is a significant step forward in our fight against those aiding or providing intelligence to bandits. We are determined to maintain lasting peace in our communities and will take firm action against anyone found collaborating with criminal elements,” Babarinde stated.

He added that security agencies have launched a thorough investigation to uncover possible links between the suspects and other accomplices or terrorist groups operating within and outside the area.
