Tragedy struck on Saturday along the Ososa stretch of the Sagamu–Benin Expressway in Ogun State, as a head-on collision between a bus and a truck claimed two lives.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that 21 people were involved.

The crash involved a yellow Toyota Hiace bus (registration BDG 274YG) and a blue Benz truck (registration AKD 115YL). Preliminary reports indicate that the bus was driving against traffic when it collided with the truck.

“The fatal collision occurred at Ososa slope, heading towards Sagamu from Ijebu-Ode. Eyewitnesses said the bus was driving the wrong way before it collided head-on with the truck,” Akinbiyi explained.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital morgue, while the injured were admitted to the same facility for medical treatment.
