Transfer News: Boniface Joins Al-Nassr, Shakhtar Target Guilherme, Bournemouth Chase Kroupi

As the January transfer window edges closer to its deadline, clubs across Europe and beyond are making decisive moves to bolster their squads. Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is set for a sensational switch to Saudi Arabia, while Luis Guilherme could be on his way out of West Ham, and Bournemouth intensify their pursuit of Eli Junior Kroupi.

Boniface Set for Al-Nassr Move

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a blockbuster deal for Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Saudi outfit has reached an agreement with the Bundesliga leaders, with a transfer fee in the region of €60 million (£50.3m).

The Nigerian international has been a standout performer for Xabi Alonso’s side this season, scoring eight goals in 15 appearances. Despite previous links to the Premier League, Al-Nassr have emerged as frontrunners and have reportedly offered Boniface a lucrative €15 million (£12.6m) per season contract.

Boniface, who joined Leverkusen from Union SG in 2023, has already completed his medicals, and an official announcement is imminent. The 24-year-old leaves Germany with an impressive 29 goals and 11 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

Shakhtar Target West Ham’s Guilherme

In another major transfer development, Shakhtar Donetsk have made a bid to sign Luis Guilherme from West Ham United. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who arrived in London from Palmeiras in June 2024, has struggled to find his footing, featuring just six times this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Shakhtar have submitted a £12.6m offer and are pushing for a quick deal before the window closes. With Guilherme yet to establish himself under Graham Potter, West Ham may be open to negotiations, especially as the club looks to reinforce its attacking options.

Potter, dealing with injuries in his forward line, is reportedly eyeing attacking reinforcements, which could pave the way for Guilherme’s departure.

Bournemouth Lead Race for Lorient’s Kroupi

Elsewhere, Bournemouth are in talks with Lorient over a potential deal for Eli Junior Kroupi. The 18-year-old forward has been in sensational form this season, netting nine goals and two assists in 18 appearances, including eight goals in 16 Ligue 2 matches.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth are keen on securing Kroupi’s signature but face competition from Chelsea, Tottenham, and RB Leipzig. The Cherries are reportedly willing to let Kroupi finish the season at Lorient, with the transfer officially going through in the summer.

With only 18 months left on his contract, Lorient could be tempted to sell, but Bournemouth must act swiftly as interest from bigger clubs grows. Kroupi, who broke into Lorient’s senior team at just 16 years old, has already scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 50 appearances for the French club.

Conclusion

With Boniface set to embark on a new journey in Saudi Arabia, Guilherme likely to leave West Ham, and Bournemouth making a strong push for Kroupi, the final days of the January transfer window promise plenty of action. Stay tuned as these deals take shape in the coming days.
