Tinubu Touches Down in Abu Dhabi Ahead of 2026 Sustainability Week

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday to attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), which officially begins on Monday. His aircraft landed at the presidential wing of Zayed International Airport at 11:30 p.m. local time.
According to a statement from his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu was welcomed by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, the UAE ambassador to Nigeria.
Also present at the airport were Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and members of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi. Several other officials, including Minister of Budget and Planning Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, and NIA Director-General Mohammed Mohammed, received the President at his hotel.
Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi after diplomatic consultations in Europe with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The 2026 ADSW, themed “The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go”, will address sustainable development, climate action, energy transition, and inclusive growth, gathering global leaders to explore innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
