The Lagos State Police Command has taken into custody three police inspectors accused of brutally assaulting a 22-year-old man, Jacob Sunday, leaving him unconscious at the 22 PMF Barracks in Ogudu.

Sources revealed that the incident happened around 6 p.m. on Tuesday when the officers — Inspector John Alom of 63 PMF Ikorodu, Inspector Sunday Adoga of CTU Base 2 Ikeja, and Inspector Jehovah Usam of 22 PMF Ikeja — allegedly tricked the victim into their room before subjecting him to severe physical torture.

Jacob, identified as the son of Inspector Sunday Ochepo, was accused of engaging in a romantic relationship with Sarah Richard, the wife of ASP Audu Richard, a fellow officer living in the same barracks.

Witnesses said the young man was stripped naked and beaten until he became unresponsive. He was later rescued by police detectives and rushed to the Police College Cottage Hospital in Ikeja, where he remains in the emergency ward receiving medical treatment.

Police authorities confirmed that the three inspectors have been arrested and are currently in detention while an internal investigation is ongoing to determine their level of involvement in the incident.
