Three Lagos brothers arrested for robberies in Ogun
Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three brothers and one other over a series of robberies in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
The suspects, Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo and Tosin Ogundeko, were arrested following a distress call received at the Igbeba divisional headquarters.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Monday, said the police were informed that armed robbers invaded the shop of a lottery agent at the Odi-Olowo area of Ijebu-Ode and dispossessed him of N90,000.
Oyeyemi said, “The robbers also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO, Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them, Tosin Ogundeko, from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered
Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where three others were apprehended, while one of them, simply identified as Tosin, aka Socket, escaped.”
The PPRO stated that the suspects confessed to being responsible for various motorcycle-snatching operations in Ijebu-Ode and its environs
He noted that the suspects confessed further that they were all based in Epe, but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation.
According to Oyeyemi, one cut-to-size locally-made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation
