The Ronaldo-Al-Nassr deal details: Two-and-a-half-year contact, 200 million euros per season
November 30,2022
Cristiano Ronaldo is close to putting pen to paper on a deal that would see him join Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. The Portugal international terminated his Manchester United contract by mutual consent after travelling to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
Ronaldo is expected to earn as many as 200 million euros per season, including salary and advertising agreements.
The Portuguese star is determined to leave Europe and accept Al-Nassr‘s lucrative offer, as MARCA reported last week. It has to be noted that no European or MLS team can match the aforementioned offer.
Ronaldo’s second spell at Manchester United came to end following his controversial interview to Piers Morgan and a confrontation between the 37-year-old forward and his coach Erik ten Hag.
Saudi Arabian football is on the rise and Ronaldo could provide the Saudi Arabian league with a brand image boost which could see more stars move to the country in the future.
Very close to Rudi Garcia’s Al-Nassr
Rudi Garcia is in charge of a team where Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina and Spanish defender Alvaro Gonzalez are plying their trade
Al-Nassr‘s home matches are played at the 25,000 capacity Mrsool Park stadium and their rivals Al-Hilal are the current Saudi League champions.
The Portugal international was also approached by the team last summer, but an administrative sanction prevented the deal from being sealed.
A deal between the two parties is close to being finalized, as there are no legal obstacles this time and Ronaldo has already given the green light
