Armed terrorists who abducted 10 residents of Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have issued a one-week deadline for the payment of a N300 million ransom, threatening to kill the captives if their demands are not met.

The victims were seized last Sunday, and despite ongoing negotiations, none of them has regained freedom. The abductors had initially requested N500 million but later reduced the amount to N300 million.

The criminals warned that failure to meet the new ransom demand within the specified period would lead to another deadly attack on the town, with the intention of killing more residents. This threat has intensified fear and anxiety across Isapa.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the Chief Hunter of the community, Mr. A. Adeyeye, confirmed the latest message from the kidnappers. He said community representatives pleaded with the terrorists and offered N5 million, but the group rejected the offer immediately.

“Despite our pleas and the community’s offer of N5 million, they dismissed it as completely unacceptable and far below what they want,” Adeyeye said.
