Popular Nigerian cleric and Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has condemned the recent massacre in Benue State, describing the continued killings as “a clear sign that something is fundamentally wrong in the country.

Speaking during a Sunday service at the Glory Dome in Abuja, the fiery preacher expressed outrage over the June 13–14 attack on Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area, which left over 300 people dead and dozens of homes destroyed by suspected armed herdsmen.

In a passionate rebuke, Pastor Enenche said the silence and inaction of authorities in the face of repeated bloodshed in the North-Central region suggests government negligence, systemic failure, or deliberate sabotage.

“How can people be butchered in their sleep, hundreds killed, and homes set ablaze, and it’s business as usual?” he asked. “Something is wrong somewhere, and it must be addressed now!”

He continued:

“This carnage cannot continue. This impunity cannot go unchecked. Those behind these killings must be exposed and brought to justice. Enough is enough!”

The cleric called on President Bola Tinubu, the military, and security agencies to rise up and protect vulnerable communities across Benue and other flashpoints.

He also charged church members and Nigerians at large to speak up against the injustice, warning that “evil thrives when good people remain silent.”

The Benue massacre, believed to be one of the deadliest in the state in recent years, has drawn national and international condemnation. Victims, including women and children, were reportedly burnt alive as armed attackers overran the village in the dead of night.

Pastor Enenche, a native of Benue State, has consistently spoken against attacks on Christian communities in the Middle Belt and has been a strong advocate for security reforms and equitable justice for victims of terrorism and banditry.

He concluded his message by offering prayers for peace in Benue and urging the international community to pay attention to the growing violence in Nigeria’s rural regions.
