Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has revealed that Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly on Tuesday, Kalu described Soludo as a “true progressive” who shares similar political values with himself, President Bola Tinubu, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“I believe after all his legal battles, Soludo will align with progressives like us. He has no other option,” Kalu stated confidently.
The former Abia governor dismissed claims that anyone was being pressured to join the ruling party, clarifying that the APC welcomes only willing members.
“Neither I, the Senate President, nor President Tinubu has ever forced anyone to join our party,” he noted, responding to speculations that Abia State Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party might also defect to the APC.
Governor Soludo, who recently secured a second-term victory over APC candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu by a margin exceeding 300,000 votes, has not yet commented on Kalu’s statement.
