Soldier Killed, 13 Passengers Kidnapped in Attacks on Okene–Auchi Highway

Unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed a soldier and abducted 13 passengers during coordinated assaults on two commercial vehicles along the Okene–Auchi Federal Highway.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared on his official X handle that the attacks occurred on Tuesday evening when assailants dressed in military uniforms intercepted a green Toyota Sienna carrying nine passengers from Abuja to Delta State. According to a reliable source cited by Makama, six passengers were kidnapped from the vehicle, while others managed to escape.

During the same operation, a white Toyota Hiace bus transporting 11 passengers from Delta State to Abuja was also stopped. Seven passengers were reportedly abducted, and four were rescued.

The source further revealed that a serving Non-Commissioned Officer of the Nigerian Army, who was travelling among the passengers, was shot dead by the attackers.
