Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has firmly denied ever meeting or having any form of discussion with Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), dismissing recent assault and bribery allegations as completely fictional.

In a statement released via his verified Instagram account on Friday, Seyi Tinubu stated unequivocally that he has “never knowingly met” Comrade Atiku Isah, nor held any meeting with him in Lagos or elsewhere.

“I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs,” the statement read.

“These allegations by Atiku Isah are completely fictional,” Seyi Tinubu emphasized.

His reaction follows a report by SaharaReporters in which Atiku Isah accused Seyi Tinubu of being involved in a violent disruption during a recent NANS inauguration ceremony. Atiku claimed that Seyi collaborated with a rival student faction and led thugs to assault him during the event.

Further intensifying the controversy, Atiku Isah also alleged that Seyi Tinubu offered him a N100 million bribe to sway the leadership direction of NANS in favor of government interests. The accusation was made during a press briefing on Wednesday, where Atiku detailed his account of the events that allegedly unfolded at the inauguration held in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to Atiku, he was invited to Lagos to meet with Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande. “The Minister for Youth, when he saw me, hugged me in Lagos. We talked, and I was to be offered N100 million. But the thing is, it’s not all about money. There are things which I stand for,” Atiku claimed.

He alleged that his rejection of the alleged bribe offer led to a violent response at the inauguration event, accusing Seyi Tinubu of orchestrating the attack through loyalists.

Seyi Tinubu, however, categorically denied all claims of involvement in any bribery, violence, or interference in student leadership matters.

As the controversy gains national attention, stakeholders and observers are calling for an impartial investigation into the allegations to establish the truth behind the claims and counterclaims.
