Seun Kuti, renowned Nigerian musician and youngest son of the late Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, has reacted to Korra Obidi’s twerking tribute at his father’s grave.
Over the weekend, Korra visited Fela’s resting place in Nigeria and performed a twerking dance in his honour. Sharing the moment on Instagram, she wrote:
“I gave baba an offering. We visited the grave site of Anikulapo Kuti today, and we all know that one thing Fela loved was a woman with gyrating hips. So I decided to twerk for baba.”
Seun Kuti responded to the performance with appreciation, noting that the gesture resonated with Fela’s vibrant lifestyle and cultural influence. He commented:
“You guys know what baba likes but you will never give him what he wants. E go better for you my sister.”
The tribute has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some critics arguing that the performance was inappropriate, while others praised it as a bold homage to Fela’s legendary personality and free-spirited legacy.
