Atalanta CEO, Luca Percassi, has stated that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman must demonstrate full commitment to the club before being reintegrated into the squad.

Lookman, 28, had pushed for a summer move to Inter Milan by submitting a transfer request and later training separately in England. However, the deal collapsed after Inter withdrew their interest, forcing the winger to return to Bergamo.

Following the failed transfer, Lookman was left out of Atalanta’s squad in their 2-0 Serie A victory over Lecce on Sunday. Head coach Ivan Juric has also suggested that the Super Eagles star is unlikely to feature in the midweek clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to DAZN, Percassi stressed that while Lookman remains an important player for the club, Atalanta’s values demand total dedication.

“We know how important Lookman is for Atalanta, but the club has some very basic principles. We need players who are ready to give 100 percent for this jersey and stay fully concentrated on our cause, because every game is difficult,” he said.

The winger’s future at Atalanta remains uncertain as the club awaits a clear show of commitment before recalling him to the first team.
