Senator Natasha Cries Out: ‘My Passport Seized Again, I’ve Been Stopped from Travelling

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has raised alarm over what she described as a deliberate attempt to stop her from leaving the country after her international passport was reportedly withheld.
The lawmaker made the claim during a live Facebook broadcast on Tuesday morning, revealing that she had planned to take a short break after celebrating her second year in office but was suddenly prevented from travelling.
According to her, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.
“In a repeat of what happened previously, my passport has been seized again. I have committed no crime, and there is no court order restricting my movement or authorizing the confiscation of my travel documents,” Senator Natasha stated.
She further alleged that during a previous incident, an immigration officer informed her that the order to withhold her passport came directly from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“I was told by the officer in charge that Senate President Godswill Akpabio instructed them to hold my passport and stop me from travelling,” she added.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the office of the Senate President or the Nigeria Immigration Service regarding the senator’s allegations.
