As part of ongoing efforts to improve security and foster harmony, senior officials of the Nigeria Police Force have engaged communities across southern Kaduna in a renewed push for peaceful coexistence.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Shehu Umar Nadada, alongside the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, led the outreach to several local government areas including Kachia, Sanga, Jere, Zango, Kajuru, and Kafanchan.
According to a statement by the state police spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, the visits involved dialogue with key stakeholders such as traditional rulers, community leaders, religious figures, youth groups, and representatives of Fulani organizations.
The discussions centered on strengthening cooperation between security agencies and residents, improving intelligence sharing, and addressing recurring farmer-herder conflicts as part of broader efforts to curb criminal activity.
During the engagements, the DIG urged residents to embrace peace and avoid actions that could escalate existing tensions, while assuring them of the police’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the country.
The initiative also created a platform for community members to voice their concerns and contribute ideas toward achieving lasting peace in the region.
The Kaduna State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to community-based policing and called on residents to actively support security agencies in maintaining stability.
