Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Seeks Trump Pardon Ahead of October Sentencing for Prostitution Charges

American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly seeking a presidential pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump as he faces sentencing for federal charges in October 2025.
Nicole Westmoreland, one of Diddy’s lawyers, confirmed in an interview with CNN that discussions have been initiated with the Trump administration regarding a possible pardon.
“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” Westmoreland said.
Trump Reacts to Diddy Pardon Request
Despite acknowledging that he has a cordial relationship with the 55‑year‑old Bad Boy Records founder, President Trump suggested that a pardon was unlikely.
Speaking during a Newsmax interview on Friday, Trump said:
“I’m friendly with Diddy.”
When pressed on whether that friendship meant he would consider a pardon, the president responded:
“I would say so, yeah,” implying that his stance does not favor leniency.
Diddy Faces 20 Years in Prison
The Grammy‑winning producer and businessman was convicted last month by a New York jury on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
The case marks a dramatic fall from grace for one of hip‑hop’s most successful figures, as legal experts note that presidential pardons in high‑profile criminal cases are rare and politically sensitive.
