Ryan Taylor Opens Up on Split with DJ Cuppy, Says She ‘Didn’t Like Nigerians’

British YouTuber and BMX rider Ryan Taylor, ex-fiancé of Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola (DJ Cuppy), has shed light on the reasons behind their failed engagement.
Speaking on The Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old revealed that cultural and personal differences played a major role in the breakup, adding that the relationship taught him valuable life lessons.
Taylor, who proposed to Cuppy in December 2022 barely a month after they started dating, claimed that the singer showed little interest in associating professionally with Nigerians.
“Is it weird that I said she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” he stated.
Reflecting on the experience, Taylor said there were no legal or financial ties between them and that he walked away without regrets.
“What I got from it were lessons. Everything happens for a reason. Do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. Next! I realized that money isn’t everything—but not having it is,” he added.
The couple’s whirlwind romance made headlines after their surprise engagement during the Gumball 3000 rally, but by mid-2023, fans noticed they had unfollowed each other on Instagram, confirming the end of their relationship.
