Ronaldo: Saudi Pro League Outshines Portuguese and French Competitions

Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has declared that the Saudi Pro League offers a higher standard of football than both his native Portuguese league and France’s Ligue 1.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made the remarks during a recent interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.

According to Ronaldo, Ligue 1 lacks real competition beyond PSG, while the Saudi league has grown stronger and more competitive.

“The Saudi League is far better than the Portuguese league, and also better than Ligue 1, which is basically just PSG,” he said.

Addressing critics who downplay his achievements in Saudi Arabia, the striker dismissed claims that his goal tally is only high because of the league’s quality.

“People say I score because it’s Saudi League… excuses. Even in a bad season, I scored 25 goals. Numbers don’t lie.”

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in 2023 after cutting ties with Manchester United in 2022.
