Providus Bank Plc has strengthened its presence in Nigeria’s banking landscape with the opening of a new branch in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, as part of its ongoing expansion into high-growth regions.
The move follows the bank’s early compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recapitalisation directive in January 2025, positioning it to scale operations while promoting financial inclusion and supporting local businesses.
Speaking during the inauguration, the bank’s Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Deoye Ojuroye, said the expansion aligns with a strategic roadmap to increase the bank’s footprint across the country within the next year.
He explained that the bank’s growth strategy is intentional, targeting areas with strong economic potential while ensuring it delivers value-driven services to customers.
“Our expansion is carefully planned. We are focusing on locations that drive real economic growth, while building a resilient and customer-focused institution,” Ojuroye stated.
He further emphasised that Providus Bank remains financially stable, backed by prudent capital management and a strong risk control framework, which supports its expansion drive.
According to him, the bank’s solid capital position provides the flexibility to grow sustainably while continuing to serve businesses and communities effectively.
Providus Bank also revealed plans to roll out more branches in key locations over the next 12 months, reinforcing its commitment to accessibility, scalability, and long-term growth.
