Protesters in Lagos have blocked a major road in Ojota as part of the ongoing #FearlessInOctober protests sweeping across the nation. The demonstration, led by Hassan Soweto, national coordinator of the Education Rights Campaign, saw a van parked in the middle of the road, disrupting traffic and forcing motorists to seek alternative routes, with many stranded on the spot.

The protesters voiced their frustrations about the deteriorating state of the nation, focusing on rising inflation, skyrocketing food prices, and the fuel price hike, which have worsened living conditions for millions of Nigerians.

The Bola Tinubu administration, which has been the target of the protests, has reportedly responded with heavy-handed measures, clamping down on demonstrations in various parts of the country. These actions have sparked widespread condemnation from civil society groups and individuals, who accuse the government of silencing legitimate dissent.

As protests gain momentum, the situation in Lagos and other cities remains tense, with more Nigerians demanding an end to economic hardship.
