On October 5, 2022, Prophet Miracle allegedly assaulted Mr. Glorious Abel, the Production Director of Rivers State Television (RSTV), after his sponsored programme was cut short for exceeding the paid airtime. Reports indicate that Prophet Miracle, angered by the action, stormed the RSTV premises around 11 p.m. with armed security personnel. They reportedly abducted Abel and took him to an unknown location, where he was tortured.

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), in a statement signed by then-Chairman Joy Edmund and Secretary Justice Ihunwo, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as “the height of irresponsibility, impunity, and hooliganism.” The NUJ called on the government to ensure the pastor was brought to justice.

Recounting his ordeal, Abel said, “The programme ran for 38 minutes, exceeding the 30-minute slot he paid for, so I had to stop it. Later that night, security personnel claiming to be from the Acting General Manager’s office lured me out. The next thing I saw was Prophet Miracle and his armed guards. Prophet Miracle denied the allegations, calling them defamatory.

On February 13, 2021, Prophet Miracle was accused of sending thugs to attack the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in Onokuno Street, Woji. The Spirited Children Fellowship Center reported that the attack, which occurred around 1 a.m., left several people injured, and the assailants attempted to abduct a member of the church. The victim was only saved by the intervention of other church members.

2020: Arrest for Violating COVID-19 Protocols

In May 2020, Prophet Miracle was arrested by Obio/Akpor Local Government Chairman Solomon Abel Eke for holding a church service with over 100 attendees, violating the state’s COVID-19 restrictions. Residents had warned him to comply with the lockdown directive, but he ignored them, prompting authorities to intervene. The church was later sealed, and the pastor was taken into custody.

On March 9, 2025, Prophet Miracle was arrested for allegedly detaining his wife, Success Miracle, for five days in a house in GRA, Port Harcourt. According springbewsng , the police, led by CP Olugbenga Adepoju, freed Success and summoned Prophet Miracle for questioning.

Success, in her statement to the police, claimed her husband had subjected her to financial and emotional abuse since their marriage in 2017. She revealed that he forbade her from having a bank account or personal financial resources.

“He always told me I couldn’t have my own money or even open an account, yet he never gave me money. When I finally opened a secret account and started a small business, he found out and accused me of stealing from him,” she said.

After discovering her secret account, Prophet Miracle allegedly forced her into his car on March 4 and detained her in a house in GRA, confiscating her phones to prevent communication. The police later freed her after intervention by DPO Abacha.

As of now, Prophet Miracle remains in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), facing multiple allegations that could further tarnish his reputation.
