Presidency Denies Illness Rumors, Affirms President Tinubu is Healthy and Actively Working

The Presidency has dismissed widespread rumors suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unwell, insisting that the Nigerian leader is “hale and hearty” and fully engaged in his official duties.
Speaking on BBC Hausa on Monday, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, said there was “no truth whatsoever” in media reports claiming the President’s health had deteriorated. “President Tinubu has been working from his office and carrying out his responsibilities as usual,” he stated.
Speculations over the President’s health intensified after he was last seen in public on August 1, during the opening of the Summit on Journalism for National Development. Before that, he had attended a reception for the Super Falcons in celebration of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations victory in Morocco.
Some media outlets, citing unnamed sources, alleged that the Presidential medical team was preparing to fly the President abroad for urgent treatment. They further claimed that his supposed ill health had slowed governance and led to the cancellation of several engagements scheduled for early last week.
However, the Presidential aide firmly rejected these claims, stressing that such reports were “fabricated” and “misleading.” He reiterated that the President remains committed to delivering on his mandate and is actively overseeing national affairs from his office.
The clarification comes amid a wave of online speculation, with the Presidency urging Nigerians to disregard unverified health claims and focus on the administration’s policy initiatives and governance priorities.
