Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly been given just three matches to rescue his position at Old Trafford, as pressure mounts following a poor start to the Premier League season.

The Red Devils have collected only four points from their opening four league fixtures, leaving them languishing in 14th place. Last weekend’s crushing 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City further intensified scrutiny on Amorim’s leadership.

United’s next match is a crucial home tie against Chelsea, followed by a tricky trip to Brentford and then a clash with newly promoted Sunderland at Old Trafford. The outcome of these games is expected to determine whether Amorim remains in charge after the international break.

Since his appointment 10 months ago, the Portuguese coach has managed only eight league victories in 31 matches — a record that has reportedly led to growing unrest among senior players in the dressing room.

Although United’s hierarchy has publicly expressed support for Amorim and dismissed immediate talk of a managerial change, insiders suggest his future will be reviewed after this decisive run of fixtures.

The coming weeks could therefore shape not just United’s season, but also Amorim’s managerial career at the club.
