Policemen, volunteers rescue Osun traditionalist’s abducted wife
The wife of the late Osun traditionalist, Rasidat Olakisan, who was abducted in Imesi-Ile, Osun State last week Sunday has been rescued by security agents.
PUNCH Metro reports that Rasidat and one other wife of the traditionalist, Adetoyese Olakisan, popularly known as Oba Ogboni Agbaye, were abducted by gunmen.
While the second abducted person escaped from the gunmen’s hideout last week Monday, Rasidat remained at the abductors’ den until a combined team of police operatives and Kiriji Heritage Defenders stormed where she was held at Aba Panu in Ekiti State, and rescued her late on Saturday.
Giving details about how Rasidat was rescued, the Director-General of Kiriji Heritage Defenders, Dr Ademola Ekundayo, said, “Their base is after Oke-Imesi along Ikoro-Ekiti Road, close to Osun Bridge. We rescued her in the forest close to Aba Paanu. We went to the forest where they hid her and we were able to rescue her without paying the abductors any money late on Saturday.
Men of Kiriji Heritage Defenders were used as baits. Police operatives were also involved. They asked us to buy five cartons of energy drinks, one roll of cigarettes, one carton of milk, recharge cards, and malt among others.
“Two of our boys went there to deliver the ransom and we mounted surveillance around the area. They shot at us and after an exchange of gunfire, they abandoned her and we rescued her. She is currently being treated in a hospital
