Police Probe Death of 18-Year-Old Who Allegedly Committed Suicide in Makurdi

The Benue State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of an 18-year-old boy, identified as Tersoo Veregh, who was found dead after allegedly taking his own life in Makurdi, the state capital.

According to reports, the deceased’s father, Mr. Veregh Nathaniel, of Iorkyaako Street, High Level area, discovered his son’s body around 2:00 a.m. on October 4, 2025, when he stepped out of his room and found him hanging from the ceiling.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘B’ Division, Makurdi, immediately led a team of detectives to the scene. The officers documented the incident and conveyed the body to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) mortuary for further examination.

Police authorities have confirmed that a full investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
